How it is calculated

Pieces = ceiling((perimeter − excluded gaps) × (1 + allowance/100) / piece length).

Worked example

A 15 m boundary with no gaps and 10% allowance requires 16.5 m. With 1.2 m pieces, round up to fourteen pieces.

Before you calculate

Measure the boundary where edging will actually be installed. Exclude deliberate openings and use the usable installed length of each piece rather than a nominal length that includes overlaps. Choose the reserve for your layout.

Interpreting the result

The estimate does not optimise offcuts or account for curvature, connectors and special corners automatically. Check product joining details and installation requirements. Total length alone cannot guarantee that every boundary section is covered.

Use the units shown beside each field. Monetary fields labelled EUR stay in euros; changing language does not exchange currencies. Results are estimates under the stated assumptions.
