How it is calculated
Rectangle: volume = length × width × average depth. Oval: multiply this product by π/4. Litres = cubic metres × 1,000.
Worked example
A rectangular pond measuring 3 × 2 m with an average depth of 0.6 m contains approximately 3.6 m³, or 3,600 L.
Before you calculate
Use internal water dimensions and an average depth representative of the filled pond. For uneven bottoms, several depth measurements can be more useful than a single deepest measurement. The oval option approximates an elliptical footprint.
Interpreting the result
Curved sides, shelves and irregular shapes can make the estimate inaccurate. It does not size a liner, support structure, filtration or pump. Check actual filled volume before using a volume-sensitive treatment or dosing instruction.
Use the units shown beside each field. Monetary fields labelled EUR stay in euros; changing language does not exchange currencies. Results are estimates under the stated assumptions.
