How it is calculated

Box and item volume in litres = length × width × height / 1,000 when dimensions are in cm. Compare sorted dimensions after adding padding to both sides of each item dimension.

Worked example

A 25 × 15 × 8 cm item fits in a 30 × 20 × 10 cm box without padding. Adding 2 cm per side requires a 29 × 19 × 12 cm space, so that box no longer fits.

Before you calculate

Use internal box dimensions and the item's outer dimensions, including protrusions. Padding is specified per side, so it increases each item dimension twice. The comparison checks axis-aligned rotations, not arbitrary diagonal insertion.

Interpreting the result

A geometric fit does not establish packaging strength or product protection. Allow for assembly, cushioning compression and insertion clearance. Empty volume is geometric space, not a recommendation for a particular amount of filler.

Use the units shown beside each field. Monetary fields labelled EUR stay in euros; changing language does not exchange currencies. Results are estimates under the stated assumptions.
