How it is calculated
Joint volume in mL = length in m × width in mm × depth in mm × section factor. Use 1 for rectangular and 0.5 for triangular sections. Add the allowance, then round cartridge counts up.
Worked example
A rectangular 12 m joint measuring 5 × 5 mm contains 300 mL. Adding 10% gives 330 mL: two 300 mL cartridges, with 270 mL of nominal capacity left over.
Before you calculate
Measure the intended filled joint section rather than only its visible face. Add each different joint as a separate row and select its cross-section. The allowance applies to the combined geometric volume. Compare cartridges using their actual labelled capacity.
Interpreting the result
A price comparison multiplies whole cartridges by each unit price; a positive cost difference favours the alternative format. It does not compare product suitability, delivery or discounts. Check joint design, backing and the manufacturer's guidance before applying sealant.
Use the units shown beside each field. Monetary fields labelled EUR stay in euros; changing language does not exchange currencies. Results are estimates under the stated assumptions.
