How it is calculated
Scaling factor = target servings / original servings. New quantity for every ingredient = original quantity × factor, keeping its original unit.
Worked example
Changing a four-serving recipe to six servings gives a factor of 1.5. An ingredient weighing 200 g becomes 300 g; 100 mL of liquid becomes 150 mL.
Before you calculate
Use the original recipe's actual yield and a consistent target serving size. In list mode, give each ingredient a name, quantity and supported unit. Imported files are read in your browser; verify the preview and units before replacing the working list.
Interpreting the result
Scaling does not convert mass to volume or adjust cooking times, temperatures or ingredient behaviour. Eggs, spices, thickening agents and leaveners may need practical rounding or recipe-specific judgement. Check the finished yield after cooking.
Use the units shown beside each field. Monetary fields labelled EUR stay in euros; changing language does not exchange currencies. Results are estimates under the stated assumptions.
